SUPER POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter (do not substitute)
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
A drop of orange extract (optional)
1/4 tsp. salt
5 eggs
2 c. flour

Soften butter at room temperature until barely softened. Beat butter with mixer until fluffy. GRADUALLY beat in sugar, beat again. Add the vanilla, (orange extract) and salt. Add eggs one at a time. The more you beat the better the cake. Beat in the flour.

Pour in heavily greased and floured tube pan (a Bundt pan makes a pretty cake). Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool 5 minutes in pan then turn out onto a cooling rack. This cake has a crisp crust, needs no icing. Fresh fruit is a yummy addition.
