Shred 3 cups cabbage paper thin, using knife or grater. (This may be refrigerated with ice cubes for 1 hour). Remove ice and drain. Toss with this dressing:
Mix equal parts vinegar and sugar to change quantity, and add mayonnaise (not salad dressing) for example: 1/4 c. sugar
Stir until sugar dissolves. Add: 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper
Blend these together and add to cabbage. This is very good on sliced cucumbers as well. Thinly slice 2 cucumbers, sprinkle with salt, let stand 30 minutes. Drain and add slaw dressing.
