3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. peanut butter
3/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. quick oats, uncooked
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. chopped or whole M & M's plain chocolate candies

Beat together butter, peanut butter, and sugars until light and fluffy; blend in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, oats, soda, and salt; add to butter mixture; mix well. Stir in 3/4 cup candies. Spread batter into greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch jelly roll pan. Top with remaining 1/2 cup candies. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely; cut into bars. Makes one pan of bar cookies
