CHOCOLATE SPRITZ STARS 
I made up this recipe without strict measurements and they turned out yummy.

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. almond extract
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar (may use baking soda or powder)
1 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, grated

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and almond extract. Beat or stir in remaining ingredients.

Fill cookie press with dough using small star design. Other shapes can be used but they may need a bit longer baking time.

Press onto ungreased cookie sheet or parchment paper.

Bake at 375°F for five minutes, remove from sheet and glaze with icing.

For icing, I used a powdered sugar, butter and grenadine glaze.

Makes about 30 cookies. Recipe may be doubled.
