FRIED CORNMEAL MUSH | |
2 3/4 c. water, BOILING 1 c. cornmeal 1 c. cold water 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar Combine cornmeal, cold water, salt and sugar and GRADUALLY add to boiling water, stirring constantly. Cook until thick, stirring frequently. Cover, cook over LOW heat 10-15 minutes. Pour into loaf pans. Cool and then refrigerate overnight. Cut in 1/2 inch slices and fry slowly in hot fat. Turn once. When browned, serve with syrup. Great with sausage. A favorite of Annetta's Dad. |
