BISCOTTI 
1/2 c. shortening, melted
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 shot whiskey or peach or apricot brandy
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, salt, and flavoring. Sift flour and baking powder together, then add to wet ingredients. Mix well and add nuts. Flour your hands and make 2 loaves. Bake on cookie sheet in 325 degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes. Then slice loaves while they are still hot and toast them immediately in 375 degree oven.

Make sure your knife is sharp or your loaves will crumble.
