3/4 c. shortening (half butter)
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Cream together shortening and sugar. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients. Chill for 1 hour. Roll dough out on floured surface, roll 1/8 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes or until lightly browned at edge. When cool, ice with a powdered sugar frosting or other favorite.
