OATMEAL COOKIES - AUNT PEGGY'S 
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
Pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
2 1/4 c. oatmeal

Cream shortening, sugar and egg. Sift dry ingredients, add to cream. Fold in oatmeal. Roll in balls and press with fork on greased sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until edges are lightly browned.
