1 c. butter (pure) butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts
1/4 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter and sugar. Mix in other ingredients. Spread on baking sheet, 15 x 10 x 1/2 inch. This will be stiff dough. If hard to spread, put a little egg white on it and it will be easier to smooth. Using hands, brush top with stiffly beaten egg white. Sprinkle and press nuts and coconut on top. Bake at 325 degrees until golden brown. Cut in squares while warm.
