(Served in America for Jewish family celebrations when dairy served.)

2 sticks butter
1/2 c. sugar
Dash salt
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour

Add sugar to softened butter and cream together. Add egg and blend, then add other ingredients and mix. Blend well and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
