MAGIC MICROWAVE CARAMEL CORN 
8-10 qts. air-popped corn in a brown lg. grocery bag
Peanuts (optional)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar (white or brown)
1/2 Karo syrup (white or brown)
1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Select: mild caramel or molasses (like Cracker Jacks); for caramel, use 1 cup light Karo and 1 cup brown sugar; for molasses, use 1 cup molasses and 1 cup white sugar.

Set bag of corn on the floor open. In glass kettle put butter, salt, syrup, sugar. Microwave on high for 1 minute and stir. Microwave on high again for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave on high for 1 minute more and stir again. (Total of 3 stirrings.)

Microwave on high until syrup comes to full boil and reset microwave and full boil 2 minutes without stirring. Remove from microwave and stir in 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. Pour directly in the bag on top of the corn. Close the bag and shake vigorously. Microwave on high 1 1/2 minutes more. Pour into very large bowl and stir until cool.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
