3/4 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour 1 sm. gumdrops or chocolate covered malted milk balls 1 c. sifted confectioners' sugar 1/4 tsp. vanilla 4-5 tbsp. milk Colored sugar or colored candy sprinkles In large mixer bowl, beat butter with electric mixer for about 30 seconds. Add sugar; beat until fluffy. Add egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla; beat well. Add flour, beating well until mixed. Cover and chill 1 hour. Shape 1 level tablespoon of dough around candy to form a ball. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes, or until edges are golden. Remove from pan and cool. Stir together powdered sugar, vanilla and enough milk to make dipping consistency. Dip top of cookies in the frosting; sprinkle with sugar or candies. Makes 3 dozen cookies. |
