CHOCOLATE REVEL BARS 
1 c. butter
2 1/2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 (14 oz.) can 1 1/4 c. sweetened condensed milk
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans

In a mixing bowl beat the 1 cup butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add about half of the flour, the brown sugar, eggs, vanilla and baking soda. Beat until thoroughly combined and beat in remaining flour. Stir in oats.

In a medium saucepan combine chocolate pieces, sweetened condensed milk and the 2 tablespoons butter. Cook over low heat until chocolate melts, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in walnuts and remaining 2 teaspoons vanilla.

Press 2/3 (about 3 1/3 cups) of the rolled oats mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan. Spread chocolate mixture over the oat mixture, using your fingers. Dot remaining oat mixture over chocolate. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 25 minutes or until top is lightly browned. (Chocolate mixture will still look moist.) Cool on wire rack. Makes 60.
