KAY'S CHOCOLATE REVEL BARS | |
1 c. butter 2 1/2 c. flour 2 c. packed brown sugar 2 eggs 4 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda 3 c. quick cooking rolled oats 1 1/2 c. semi sweet chocolate chips 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk 2 tbsp. chopped nuts Beat 1 cup butter with mixer 30 seconds. Add half of flour, sugar, eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla, and baking soda. Beat on low speed until combined. Beat in remaining flour, stir in oats. In saucepan, cook chocolate chips, milk and 2 tablespoons butter over low heat until chocolate chips are melted. Remove from heat add remaining 2 teaspoons vanilla and nuts. Pat 2/3 of oat mixture (about 3 1/2 cups) into bottom of ungreased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan. Spread chocolate mixture over oat mix. Dot with remaining oat mixture. Bake at 350 degrees about 25 minutes or until top is lightly brown (chocolate will still look moist). |
