SUMMER BROILED TOMATOES | |
3 lg. tomatoes, halved 3/4 c. bread crumbs 2 tbsp. melted butter 1 lg. clove garlic, crushed 1/2 tsp. dried basil or 1 tbsp. fresh 1/2 tsp. dried parsley Salt & pepper to taste Grated cheese (optional) 1. Turn tomato halves over to drain for a minute or so. 2. Mix bread crumbs, butter, garlic, basil, parsley, salt and pepper. 3. Place 3 tablespoons bread crumb mixture on each tomato half and put in shallow, oven proof serving dish or on baking sheet. 4. Bake for 10 minutes at 425 degrees or until tops are brown. You may want to broil for a few minutes to brown. Grated cheese can be used before or after browning. |
