POTATO - ONION GRATIN | |
About 3 lb. potatoes 3 lg. sweet onions 1/4 c. butter 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 (14 oz.) can beef broth 2 c. shredded Swiss cheese Thinly slice potatoes and put in water. Slice onions and saute in 1 tablespoon butter. Saute covered about 8 minutes. Add remaining butter and cook 5 more minutes. Drain potatoes well and layer 1/2 of them in a shallow 2 quart baking dish. (Use Pam on dish!) Season with 1/2 the salt and pepper. Add onions. Add remaining potatoes, broth, salt, pepper and sprinkle cheese on. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. |
