1 c. butter, softened
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (15 oz.) box raisins
1 c. black walnuts
1 sm. jar cherries, chopped
2 c. applesauce, heated
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour large tube pan. Put applesauce and spices on to heat.

Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs. Add flour, then add applesauce, which has been heated with the spices. Last fold in raisins, nuts, and cherries, which have been floured with a little of the flour.

Bake for 90 minutes, test, if not done bake until.

Freezes well.
