CARMELETTO'S 
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 bag Kraft caramels
1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
12 oz. crushed walnuts
1 bag chocolate chips

Mix together flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, butter, salt and soda. Put 1/2 the mixture in lightly greased 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.

In a double boiler, melt caramels and evaporated milk until smooth, then pour over baked ingredients. Sprinkle walnuts and chocolate chips over caramels. Then take remaining cookie mixture and sprinkle over top. Bake 20 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars and refrigerate 24 hours.
