Are you browning the ground beef first and mixing it with rice, onions and then layering in roasting pan, or is everything just going in raw, unmixed?

Hi Dede,

Add everything as the recipe calls for, don't brown the ground beef in advance. All ingredients are added raw due to the long cooking time.

1 cup of uncooked rice yields 2 cups cooked which is plenty for 2 to 3 pounds of meat. I par boil and rinse my rice prior to mixing with the meat.
