SUMMER ITALIAN STEW 
1/2 lb. bacon (chopped)
2 lbs. deer stew meat
4 potatoes (peeled, quartered and chunked)
4 carrots (scraped and chunked)
2 med. onions (thick sliced)
4 fresh tomatoes (peeled and chunked)
1 med. zucchini (quartered, pulp and seeds removed, chunked)
2 c. fresh green beans (snapped)
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. parsley
1 tbsp. Italian seasoning
1 chopped jalapeno pepper
1 tsp. salt and pepper or to taste

Cook bacon in stew pot until done. Remove bacon, set aside. Pour off bacon grease except for 3 tablespoons.

Season deer meat lightly with salt and pepper, brown in bacon grease. Add water to cover. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir in bacon, vegetables and spices, adding just enough water to cover. Bring back to boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer until meat and vegetables are tender. Taste, adjust seasonings.
