GOOD CHILI AND TRIMMINGS 
1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion, finely chopped
1 sm. green pepper, seeded and finely chopped
1/8 tsp. garlic powder or 1 clove garlic, crushed
1 or 2 tbsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper; optional
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
1 (16 oz.) can red kidney beans, drained

Cook beef in a deep skillet until brown, stirring to break up beef and to cook evenly. Carefully drain fat from skillet. Add onion, green pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, red pepper, salt and pepper to meat in skillet. Stir. Add tomatoes and kidney beans. Simmer about 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until slightly thickened. 4 servings.
