APPLE PIE 
6-8 Granny Smith apples
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Dash of salt
Pastry for 2-crust pie
4 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. allspice
Dash of vanilla

Prepare pastry for single-crust pie. Mix all dry ingredients. Add peeled and sliced apples. Add vanilla. Toss well to coat fruit, fill a pastry-lined 9-inch pie plate with apple mixture. Dot with butter. Adjust top crust. Seal and flute edge.

To make glossy, brush crust with milk. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until done.
