BUTTERMILK BRAN MUFFINS 
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening (Crisco)
1 cup 100% bran cereal
2 eggs
2 cups buttermilk
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Golden raisins

Cream sugar and shortening. Soak bran cereal in 1 cup boiling water. Cool.

Mix sugar mixture, bran mixture and all remaining ingredients together. Fill greased muffin pans 3/4 full.

Bake at 375°F for 15 to 18 minutes.
