1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cloves

Blend shortening, sugars, and eggs. Add peanut butter. Sift all dry ingredients together. Stir into mixture. Bake 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes 3 dozen. I always double this recipe.
