GERMAN SWEET OR DUTCHMAN'S
CHOCOLATE PIE
 
1 German sweet chocolate bar
1 stick butter
2 c. white sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
3 c. Carnation milk
2 egg yolks
Pinch of salt
Vanilla

Melt chocolate bar and butter; add rest of ingredients. Beat egg whites and fold in last - not stiff. Slowly stir some Carnation milk to chocolate and butter mixture. Pour into unbaked pie shell, sprinkle with nuts and coconut. Bake at 450 degrees for 12 minutes then at 350 degrees until done. Makes 2 pies.
