ONION APPLE CASSEROLE 
1 (1 lb.) pkg. frozen sm. onions
1/2 c. brown sugar
Salt
Freshly ground pepper
1/4 c. butter
6 tart apples, peeled, cored & cut in 1" chunks
1 c. bread crumbs

Cook onions according to directions and drain. One pound can small onions may be substituted.

Lightly grease casserole, add the small onions, sprinkle with half brown sugar. Season with salt and pepper and dot with half of butter. Add the apples and top with remaining sugar. Season again and dot with remaining butter. Top with bread crumbs and bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Yield: 5 or 6 servings.
