SWEDISH COOKIES 
2 sticks plus 1 1/2 tbsp. butter
1 egg
5 tsp. water
3 3/4 c. flour
1/2 heaping tsp. cinnamon
1/2 heaping tsp. cloves
Dash ginger
3 tsp. baking soda
Pinch baking powder
2 1/2 c. sugar
4 tsp. molasses

Melt butter, add spices and cool. Add egg; mix well. Add molasses and water (saving 1 teaspoon of water to dissolve soda). Add soda and flour; blend well. Divide dough into four rolls. Wrap in Saran Wrap; chill or freeze. Cut very thin. Bake 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Store in air tight container.
