CHINESE CHEWS 
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped nuts
2 eggs, beaten

Sift sugar, flour, baking powder and salt into bowl. Stir in dates and nuts. Add eggs; mix thoroughly. Spread in greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch pan. Bake in moderate 375 degree oven about 20 minutes. Cut into squares while warm. Roll in confectioners' sugar. Makes about 6 dozen.
