CRANBERRY ORANGE BREAD 
1 c. chopped cranberries
1/2 c. nuts
1 tbsp. grated orange rind (optional)
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. orange juice
1 egg, well beaten

Grease and flour 9 x 5 x 3 inch pan. Combine cranberries, nuts, orange rind and set aside. In bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Cut in shortening. Stir in juice and egg. Mix just to moisten. Fold in cranberries and nuts and rind. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes. Cool 15 minutes on rack then remove from pan.
