CREAM CHEESE COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Candied cherries or pecan halves

Cream butter and cream cheese, slowly add sugar beating until fluffy. Beat in egg. Add flour and vanilla. Mix well. Chill dough at least 1 hour. Shape dough into 1 inch balls; place on greased cookie sheet; gently press a cherry or pecan half into each cookie.

Bake at 325 degrees for about 12 to 15 minutes. Makes about 7 dozen cookies. Dough will keep in refrigerator for several days.
