CREAM CHEESE COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
4 oz. cream cheese
1 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg yolk
Candied cherries or pecan halves

Cream butter and cream cheese; slowly add sugar. Beating until fluffy, beat in egg yolk. Add flour and vanilla; mix well. Chill dough at least 1 hour. Shape dough into 1 inch balls, place on cookie sheet. Gently press a cherry or pecan half into each cookie. Bake at 325 degrees for about 12-15 minutes.
