MRS. BERRY'S CHOCOLATE
BUTTERMILK CAKE
 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
4 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients. Add alternately with buttermilk. Bake at 300 degrees about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Test to see if done.
