TOFFEE COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
2 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Blend butter, sugars and flour. Set aside 1/2 cup crumb mixture for topping.

To the remaining mixture, add the buttermilk, baking soda, egg and vanilla. Blend well. Pour into greased and floured 9"x13" pan.

TOPPING:

1 1/2 c. Heath bars, chopped
1/4 c. pecans, chopped

Mix together Heath bars, pecans and reserved 1/2 cup crumb mixture. Sprinkle on top of cake batter and bake 25 to 30 minutes. Cook slightly before serving. Yield: 10 to 12 servings.
