1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 2 eggs 3/4 c. brown sugar 1 tbsp. vanilla 2 tbsp. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. coconut 3/4 c. nuts Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar. Sift flour with baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture. Spread in greased 9x9 inch pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes. Beat (with clean beaters) the eggs, sugar, vanilla thoroughly until light. Add 2 tablespoons flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, coconut and nuts. Spread over baked dough; return to oven and bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. My Mother made these every Christmas without exception. |
