GREAT GRANDPA'S CHOCOLATE FUDGE 
2 c. sugar
Approximately 3 tbsp. cocoa (add more or less to taste)
1 scant c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter

Cook sugar, cocoa, milk and butter together until it forms a soft ball when tried in cold water. Remove from heat, beat until creamy and the fudge begins to harden around the edge of the pan. Pour into well-buttered pie pan. Cut into squares when cool.
