APPLE CAKE - NO CHOLESTEROL 
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. vegetable oil
3 egg whites
2/3 c. all-purpose flour
2/3 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. oat bran
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground allspice or nutmeg
3 c. shredded apples

In a large mixing bowl, combine sugars, oil and egg whites. Beat with a wooden spoon until well blended. Add flours, oat bran, baking soda, and spices. Stir just until moistened. Stir in shredded apples. Pour batter into 9x13x2 inch pan that has been sprayed with non-stick coating. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cool. Sift with powdered sugar. Makes 16 servings.
