CHICKEN ROMAINE 
3 lb. chicken, floured
3 tbsp. shortening
1 med. onion, sliced
1 lg. clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
Dash hot pepper sauce
1 can tomato soup
1/2 c. diced celery
2 oz. shredded Swiss cheese
Hot buttered noodles

Brown chicken in shortening. Combine onion, garlic, salt, basil, pepper sauce, soup and 1 cup water. Pour over chicken. Simmer, covered 40 minutes. Add celery, cook about 15 minutes (until tender). Stir in 1/2 of cheese; sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Serve over noodles. Serves 4.
