1 lb. lean ground beef 1/2 c. uncooked converted style rice water 1/3 c. chopped onion 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/8 tsp. garlic powder 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp. vegetable oil Cooked peas or green beans for garnish Combine beef, rice, 1/2 cup water, onion, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mold 1/2 cup this beef mixture into cone shape servings. Combine tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Heat oil; add beef molds. Cook until browned. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon. Drain; discard oil. Return beef to skillet. Pour sauce mix over all. Cover. Simmer about 45 minutes. Garnish with cooked peas or beans. Serves 4. |
