MRS. P.'S HEATH BAR TREATS | |
35 saltine cracker squares 1 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar 1/4 tsp. baking soda 12 oz. chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate) 1 c. finely chopped pecans Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 10 x 15 inch jelly roll pan with foil. Spray foil with Pam. Place saltines on foil lined pan. Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan on medium heat. Bring to a FULL boil, boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add baking soda; stir well. Pour over crackers and spread evenly. Bake for no longer than 10 minutes (remove if sugar mixture begins to brown). Sprinkle chocolate chips and allow them to melt. Spread the chocolate and top with crushed pecans. Cool completely in refrigerator before cutting with a sharp knife. |
