SECRET TOFFEE 
1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. packed brown sugar
24 unsalted soda crackers
9 oz. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
3/4 c. finely chopped walnuts or toasted almonds

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line inside of 9 x 13 inch pan with large sheet of foil, going 1 inch up the sides. Melt butter in saucepan, add brown sugar and boil rapidly until sugar melts and becomes syrupy, about 30 seconds. Pour into foil-lined pan. Tilt pan to cover bottom evenly. Arrange layer of crackers over syrup, leaving 1/8 inch between crackers.

Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate morsels and nuts over top. Return to oven for 1 minute more, then spread chocolate which will be soft evenly over sugar with spatula, carefully. Refrigerate 1 hour or more until firm. Lift from pan, peel off foil and break into chunks. Refrigerate for storage.
