CORN LIGHT BREAD 
3 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening, melted
1 tsp. salt
3 c. buttermilk

Combine all ingredients, mix well. Spoon into a well-greased l0-inch tube pan; let stand 10 minutes.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until done. Cool 5 minutes before removing from pan.

Serves 12-15.
