3 c. applesauce
1 c. butter
4 tsp. baking soda
4 c. flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cinnamon
16 oz. candied fruits cake mix
1 c. coconut
1 c. candy orange slices, cut fine
1 box raisins
1 c. pecans or black walnuts, chopped
1 c. English walnuts, chopped
8 oz. chopped dates

Heat applesauce. Mix in butter and allow to melt. Cool 3 minutes. Add soda, sift flour, spices, and sugar together 2 or 3 times. Add candied fruits, coconut, orange slice candy, raisins, and nuts. Be sure these are well-coated with flour mixture. Then mix with applesauce mixture until no dry particles are visible. Pour into well-greased and floured pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
