OLD FASHIONED EGG CUSTARD PIE 
1 c. plus 1 tsp. sugar
3 eggs
2 c. milk
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
1 tsp. flour
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell

Set aside 1 teaspoon sugar. Whip remaining 1 cup sugar with eggs until creamy. Beat in milk, melted butter, vanilla, and nutmeg. Combine the reserved sugar with the flour and sprinkle evenly over the pie shell before filling. Heat oven to 300 degrees. Pour custard into pie shell and bake about 40 minutes - until firm.
