APPLE COBBLER 
8 apples, sliced (any kind)
2 c. sugar
1/2 stick butter
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. almond flavoring
3/4 c. water

CRUST:

3/4 c. Crisco
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
5 tbsp. water

Mix apple slices with all ingredients. Put pastry strips on bottom of dish. Pour half of apple mixture. Add more small pieces of crust. Add other half of apple mixture and cover with top crust.
