2 lbs. ground chuck
2 lg. onions, chopped finely
4 c. potatoes, sliced
3 c. carrots, sliced
2 1/2 c. cabbage, shredded
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
Salt and pepper each layer

Grease large casserole or baking pan (13 x 9 x 2 inches). Set oven at 350 degrees. Spread ingredients in order given, pouring tomato sauce over top. Cover and cook about 2 hours. Take cover off last 30 minutes. Serves 10 to 12.

Any ingredients are optional to suit your taste.
