CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS 
Chicken
1 tbsp. salt
4-5 chicken bouillon cubes
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs

Cover chicken in water, adding 1 tablespoon salt. Add 4-5 chicken bouillon cubes to flavor. Cook for 1-1 1/2 hours. When chicken is done, bone and dice.

For dumplings, mix together 2 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup shortening, and 2 eggs. Roll thin and cut into 1 inch squares. Add dumplings to boiling chicken broth and cook for 15 minutes. Reduce to low heat, cover and cook for 30 minutes. After cooking dumplings, add diced chicken.
