BEEF PAPRIKA 
2 lbs. stew beef
1/4 c. pork drippings
1/4 lb. onions
2 garlic cloves
1 tbsp. flour
2 1/2 c. beef broth
1/2 tsp. dried marjoram
1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
Brown sugar
2 tsp. paprika
Salt and pepper

Cube beef. Heat drippings in a large kettle or flameproof casserole. Add beef and fry until brown on all side. Peel and chop onions and garlic. Add to pan and cook until transparent.

Sprinkle in flour and stir into mixture. Add broth, marjoram, caraway seeds, a pinch of sugar, paprika, and seasoning. Cover tightly and cook gently for 1 3/4 - 2 hours. Serves 6.
