1 pkg. yellow cake mix (less 2/3 c.)
1 egg
1/2 c. butter, melted

Grease bottom and sides of 13 x 9 inch pan. Combine above ingredients and put into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

FILLING:

2/3 c. cake mix
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. corn syrup (Karo)
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Combine. Beat 2 minutes. Add 2 cups pecans. Pour over hot crust. Return to oven for 30-35 minutes or until filling is set. Cool and cut into squares.
