BLACK WALNUT COOKIES 
1/2 c. soft butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. undiluted evaporated milk
2 2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. black walnuts, chopped

Mix shortening, sugars and eggs. Stir in milk and vanilla. Sift flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Blend in nuts and chill for 1 hour. Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes. When completely cool, ice with the following:

Icing:

2 tsp. butter, melted until golden brown
2 c. confectioners sugar
1/4 c. evaporated milk

Mix and ice.
