SPUD BURGER 
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. shredded potatoes
1/4 c. finely chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
5 slices American or Cheddar cheese
5 hamburger rolls, split
5 red onion slices

Combine meat, potatoes, onions, salt and pepper. Mix well and shape into 5 patties. Broil 4-5 minutes each side or to desired doneness. Top each with a cheese slice. Broil just enough to melt cheese slightly. Layer on bun with cheese and onion.
